Reptile Education in the Classroom

From November 22 to December 2, 2016, Huron Stewardship Council staff visited 10 schools in and around Huron County to deliver a ‘Reptiles at Risk’ educational outreach presentation. More than 1700 students and teachers heard our presentation and had the opportunity to interact with live snakes and turtles. Huron Perth Agriculture and Water Festival 2015

Envirothon 2014

The Envirothon is a competition for high school students to test their knowledge of natural resources and presentation skills.   Many local partners work to deliver a preparation workshop and regional competition (CA staff, County of Huron staff, Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation staff, and volunteers).  This year, the HSC ran the presentation portion of the regional competition at Pinery Provincial Park.   Out of the seven teams that competed, the winning team for 2014 was from Goderich District Collegiate Institute (above picture)!…
